Bishop F. Josephus (Joey) Johnson, II, has led one of Akron's largest and most influential churches for 45 years. In 2004, he was awarded a unique graduate-level reading certificate in cultural anthropology and New Testament Interpretation, from Dr. Bruce Malina, former professor in the Theology Department of Creighton University.
