The Passion of the Cross

Saint Alphonsus Liguori's Way of the Cross opens the heart to contemplate Jesus' passion, his sacrifice and his love for us. Jesus' way is our road of hope. By contemplating this specialdevotion and powerful photographs we are inspired to take up our own personal cross andfollow Jesus to his promise of eternal life from his death and resurrection. The Way of the Cross teaches us humility and trust in God's will. Salvation cannot be achievedby man alone, but by the will of God. Jesus gave us an example of such trust and sacrificeso we can be healed of our sins. We must willingly take up our cross to follow Jesus to live with God. Jesus demonstrated that our earthly material wants should never come before our devotion to God. Jesus cross frees us from our burdens of sin and is God's gift of salvation for those who live a life of faith. The Stations of the Cross are not just a Lenten prayer, but can be prayed on a daily basis. They are a door to open our hearts to God, his divine will, and his gift of our salvation.
