It is not typically associated with exploring uncharted territories. However, for this young teenager, an adventure beyond the awe-inspiring mountains of Haiti was set in stone. With perseverance, she could become the pioneer to uplift generations, and her success or failure would have a significant impact on her impoverished family, who desperately depended on her for survival.
Away from the familiar, she embarked on a journey to realize her parents' dreams. She had to learn to survive in an unknown world, while longing for the life she had left behind shadowed her every waking moment. For every imaginable reason, separation hurts, especially at the tender age of thirteen.
