He graduated from Long Branch High School and served in the USMC from 1956-1986. He later graduated from Shaw University with a Bachelors of Art. Graduated from Cambridge College, Master of Education, Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary Urban Campus, Diploma of Religious Education, Graduated from Newburgh Theological Seminary Doctor of Philosophy in Biblical Studies, Doctor of Education Specialization in Christian Education.
