Simple Spirit

1 Corinthians 11:3 sets the theme: "But I am afraid that...your minds will be led astray from the simplicity and purity of devotion to Christ." Describing his philosophy of writing prompts in Simple Spirit, Tim Teague makes this refreshing statement: "I decided I would approach the role of the Holy Spirit in our everyday lives from strictly a simple look at scriptures." We have made the simple application of the Holy Spirit's role in our lives far too complex. God is a God of simplicity. God simply spoke-It was simply done. The author also points out the frightening truth that Satan's strategy, too, is simple: Promote ignorance-which breeds confusion, which breeds fear, which breeds resistance; then "all Satan does is sit back and laugh at a powerless church." "Maybe," Teague offers in his unaffected and nonjudgmental voice, "we can get back to just taking God at His word."
