Om Oh, the Deep, Deep Love of Jesus
John 17 contains the greatest intercessory prayer every prayed from this earth. The Apostle John reveals Jesus of Nazareth, in full disclosure of his self identity, going to his Father not only for his disciples then but also for his disciples now.
Drawing from this remarkable chapter of the Bible, Michael A. Milton has sought to capture the timeless spiritual truths that Jesus prayed and to apply them to the lives of his congregation. In this book, all of us can now benefit from these insights.
Retaining the live feel of an actual worship service at First Presbyterian Church of Chattanooga, Tennessee, where these messages were first delivered, the reader can expect an appealing mixture of faithful Bible exposition, alert concern for the times in which we live, and heartfelt pastoral application to the lives of real people. Each chapter concludes with questions for devotional study or for small groups.
Prayer is one of those things to which we all give lip service, but deep down we know we could improve in this area. So why not learn from the Master Himself, our Lord Jesus who provides a model prayer in John 17? You are holding in your hands a book about that prayer, written by one of the early graduates of Knox Theological Seminary, Dr. Michael Milton. I highly recommend it.
