My Growing Pains

- My Search for the Meaning of Psyche, Soul

Om My Growing Pains

About My Growing Pains As we live our lives, we all face changes. Sometimes they are unexpected events such as medical issues, losing a job, or accidents. At other times changes are caused by choices we make; for example: dating and marriage, parenting, or retirement. Still other changes occur in the mind, as you learn that some of your assumptions about life were mistaken. This booklet is about my journey as I dealt with that third kind of change. Growing pains are the difficulties you face when dealing with those changes. My growing pains were spread throughout my lifetime but crested in my older years, after I retired. They centered on my belief about the human soul. I kept finding scriptures that proved that my belief was incorrect. Follow my journey: how I found my errors, where and how I searched for accurate answers, what my findings are, and how my corrected beliefs have changed my life. Meet the Author Who is this guy, Dr. Fred? You have a right to know. I was born November 2, 1926, the youngest child of a farm family. I graduated from high school in 1944. I wanted to farm. The Lord saved me, then called me to preach. I studied at two colleges, one seminary, and two public universities. I graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Educational Psychology from Kansas State University in 1976. I pastored thirteen years, then served twenty-five years as a college professor.
