Dr. James R. Love, Sr. serves as the Senior Pastor of Love the Gospel Church in Temple Hills, Maryland. A native of Washington D.C., Dr. Love was ordained to the ministry in Evangel Church in 1983 and served on the Pastoral Staff with responsibility for Christian Education. From May 1983 to August 1997, he served as Principal of Covenant Christian Day School in Greensboro, NC; and in 1997, Dr. Love accepted the call to the Pastorate of Faith Tabernacle United Holy Church of America, Inc. on Capitol Hill where he served for 10 years. In addition, Dr. Love currently serves as the Chairman of Greater Washington Christian Education Association, Inc., a non-denominational, Christ-centered training resource to encourage all phases of Christian Education that would help to transformed communities and churches for the Lord Jesus Christ. Dr. Love is the author of several books, including the Gathering Place, Get Over Yourself, and Black Presence in the Bible. Dr. Love received his Doctor of Ministry from Westminster Theological Seminary, Philadelphia, PA. He holds a Master of Divinity from Wesley Theological Seminary, Washington, D.C., and a Bachelor of Science from Lincoln University. He is married to Deborah, a gifted educator in the Prince George's County School System. They make their home in Bowie, Maryland. The Love's have three adult children- James, Jr., Deja and Devita.
