Grumlin O'Grady

Om Grumlin O'Grady

Grumlin O'Grady is a little half-elf, just nine inches high but with a big personality. For years, he has been living peacefully - if somewhat grumpily - in a derelict farm house in the English countryside, together with his best friend Mouse. One day, however, the peace of their rural existence is shattered by the arrival of a family of noisy humans. These newcomers immediately set about making changes, forcing poor Grumlin from his home. What's more, the thoughtless humans have plans for farming the land, threatening the safety of the little animals in the surrounding fields and orchards. Something must be done to stop this calamity - but what? Meanwhile, Grumlin struggles to overcome his selfish tendencies and live up to the higher ideals dictated by his elfin heritage. This is a gripping adventure story for children, filled with talking animals, imminent dangers and heroic deeds. It is a battle of Man versus Nature - and a chance for one little half-elf to find out what he's really made of. The story was inspired by the author's experience of running a farm in Kent, England, together with her husband and ten children, an experience scattered with delights but peppered also with mysteries and frustrations. This volume contains several sketches produced by the author and would make wonderful bedtime reading for children and parents alike.
