Aquel día del mes de marzo de 2020 en que acudí a la oficina del Estado a registrar esta obra, me indicaron a través de una diminuta ventanilla que tendría que describirla en un par de líneas del formulario. "Allí. Sí; en ésas... ¿Cómo se titula? diario de la peste. ¿De qué peste?"; dijo, preguntó, respondió y volvió a interrogar el oficinista para después perderse tras de un archivero. Solo frente a la hoja, me sonreí. Recordé al viejo Tolstói ante la petición de la dama de que le explicase qué quiso decir con su Ana Karenina. A esto el morador de Yásnaia Poliana salió al paso exponiendo que, de cumplir con dicha petición, no podría sino recitar a pie juntillas, de principio a fin, toda Ana Karenina. Acto seguido, anoté -sin mayúscula ni punto: "poemario en torno a la condición humana". De nuevo, aquí, me hallo impelido a dar cuenta de diario. Lo que afrontaré recordando que no existe 'condición humana' si no que evaluada desde un marco histórico referencial. El diseño y las preocupaciones inherentes a dicho cartabón varían; la temática y/o los elementos encomiados por los distintos puntos de observación difieren, etcétera; sin embargo, pese a que deseemos eludirla, la historia ha de filtrar en cualesquiera de los recursos por nosotros empleados, la sombra obstinada de su huella. Escrito entre 2012 y 2016, este libro no guarda ninguna relación con la pandemia que ha asolado al mundo, más bien, con un flagelo que a mi entender es sumamente más poderoso. Así, su título (elaborado en algún momento de 2013) funge como metáfora escatológica de un proceso de esquilmación ya añejo -y aún en marcha. * * * Como especie, no vivimos el tiempo natural, sino el humano.
