St. John Chrysostom (347 - 407), was one of the most important Early Church Fathers, who served first as priest in Antioch and then as Archbishop of Constantinople. He is known for his sharp preaching, and his denunciation of the moral shortcomings of authority in the church and the state, which ultimate led to his untimely death. He is also famous for the Liturgy used by the Eastern Orthodox church in almost every service, which bears his name: the Divine Liturgy of Saint John Chrysostom. His epithet Chrysostom means "golden-mouthed" in Greek and denotes his famous eloquence for which people would flock to hear him. Chrysostom was an extremely prolific author, exceeded only by St. Augustine of Hippo in the quantity of his surviving writings. He is held in great honor as a saint in the Orthodox and Catholic world. The Eastern Orthodox church regards him as one of the Three Holy Hierarchs (alongside Basil the Great and Gregory of Nazianzus). As such it is fascinating to hear the great master of preaching expound upon marriage and family life, a particularly controversial subject as the roles of men and women having been changing in modern society.The four homilies presented here are expositions on the following scriptures: 1) 1 Cor. vii. 1 - 36, 2) Ephesians v. 22-35, 3) Ephesians vi. 1-4, and 4) Colossians 3:18-25.They are taken from: Nicene and Post-Nicene Fathers, First Series, Vols. 13, 14. Contemporary, indigenous religion is approached as a something that adds value by a range of diverse actors and for a variety of reasons. In this Special Issue, we take account of emic categories and connections, focusing on which notions of ''''Sámi religion'''' are used today by religious entrepreneurs and others who share and promote these types of spiritual beliefs, and how Sámi religion is taking shape on a plenitude of arenas in contemporary society.

This memoir offers a unique insight into troubled times in Northern Ireland in the period leading up to partition. Prompted by a sectarian attack on pilgrims processing to a boat in Larne which would take them to the Eucharistic Congress in Dublin, a retired RIC Head Constable looks back on his 31 years service. For McKenna the attack in the summer of 1932 represents the culmination of years of injustice perpetrated by a unionist hierarchy within the pre-partition RIC in Ulster and in post-partition northern society in general. He believed the RIC hierarchys supine attitude towards Ulster loyalism was characterised, around the time of partition, by the B Specials being given an apparently free hand in Co. Tyrone committing injustices without fear of being brought to account. The memoir provides a contrast between relatively idyllic service in Galway and the harshness of northern political realities. This is reinforced by the personal happiness McKenna enjoyed in the west where he met his wife, contrasted with the tragedy of the untimely deaths of three of his young children while serving in Ulster. A man of his time, Head Constable McKennas voice deserves to be heard today and his story is relevant to understanding Northern Irelands political and policing problems in the present. Cross-community support for a local police force was lacking in 192021 and the events in the memoir point up how essential consensus is in any divided society, past or present.

The Douglas Boston or Havoc is one major aircraft of WW2. Designed as a light bomber, it proved to be very versatile and was used with success in various roles over all theatre of operations. The introduction of the Boston into the RAAF's inventory was a pure accident, being former Dutch aircraft. The usage was planned to be short but at the end, it lasted over two years and a half. Only one RAAF squadron, No 22, was equipped with the Boston, later completed with A-20s supplied directly by the US. The losses sustained by the 22 were high, but the Boston has the distinction of giving the he RAAF's only Victoria Cross recipient of the Pacific war, Flight Lieutenant W.E. Newton.
