Drugs, addiction, eating disorders, cutting, and loss. While these aren't topics for the faint of heart, they are timely and reflect the experiences of many people facing difficulties in life today.
Your Tiny Empire unflinchingly explores these topics to present poetry coming from a person living in a dark place struggling to find a better way, a better life. Many of these verses illustrate the hurt, loss and struggle of a tortured soul searching for love, happiness, and forgiveness-something that hasn't come from inside a needle and a bottle or from self-abuse and loathing. A few also focus on love, albeit often unrequited, and slivers of hope. They tell a story that hasn't ended yet and for which ending isn't yet clear-something only time can reveal.
