This book focuses on the military memoirs of Nathaniel Fick, Colby Buzzell, Clint Van Winkle, John Crawford and Matt Gallagher. It traces their process of soldierization, the loss of innocence, moral responsibility and coping mechanisms for traumatic experiences sustained in a post-draft American military fighting in Operation Iraqi Freedom.
