Visions and Voices

For painter and poet Paul Weingarten, all art is the direct result of sentiment and sensation. The most powerful sensation is that of pain, which forces us to seek solace in whatever way we know how. Whether it is melancholy, anxiety, anger, or emptiness, the emotions derived from pain spur the artist to communicate.
