The Trial

Life is filled with second chances. The challenge is to recognize and act on them. Sometimes the opportunity is clearly there; sometimes it takes work to find it. That is where Bradley Farmer, American lawyer in a family of lawyers, finds himself after drinking his way up and down the East Coast. He once passed out in court giving his introductory statement. It seems like he is done forever. Enter Bishop, a government operative and willing to give him a second chance. But it is of the difficult kind, a trial being held overseas in a Russian court. With only Bishop and one of his agents, Alisa, Brad is sent off to do battle in a court where the guilty verdict is in before the trial starts. The Russian Secret Police (FSB) is looking over Brad's shoulder. In a delicate balancing act, he has to placate both the Russians and the Americans. Victory will free his friend but put many others in mortal jeopardy. The number of twists, turns, and double crosses will challenge you to keep up.
