The Rainbow In The Red

It is always tragic when a student dies instead of being advocated for. It's even worse when those in leadership positions prefer backtracking, covering up, and playing the blame game instead of helping with a solution and taking responsibility like a rational adult.
Nex's death should not be in vain - not at all. There's already activism, letter writing, demands, and fighting. Vigils, memorials, and support comes from the LGBT+ community and allies alike.
But, I'm afraid the masses will just brush this even off when their slacktivism doesn't get them 'likes' anymore.
I do remain hopeful, though, that society will see this and become human beings. I've seen the best of humanity as a teacher and I know we will never be doomed when it comes to those who seek to be human.
