Om The Planetary Ennead
'The Planetary Ennead' is a group of nine poems, penned in homage to our solar family of planets, including our own home planet of Earth and the dwarf planet, Pluto. Written by poet, Sam Bartle, the poems deal with each of the planets in turn, comprising Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and the affectionate inclusion of Pluto (despite it no longer being classified as a technical 'planet'). Anyone who shares a fascination with the stars, space, astronomy, and the wider Cosmos, will enjoy the author's poetic interpretations of our solar neighbourhood within this collection.
(The publication of this second edition was prompted by the revelation of Neptune's true colour on 5th February 2024, which confirmed that it is actually an extremely pale shade of blue. As a result, both the poem and image for Neptune have been updated).
