The Longevity of Grief

Camila Martin's first poetry collection, The Progression of Grief, explored the sudden and untimely death of her mother. In Martin's second book, New Waters: Reflections on Love and Healing, she tells of falling in love with her wife. In her third volume, The Longevity of Grief, Martin embraces her father as he descends into dementia. As the slow loss of her father floods her abiding grief for her mother, Martin questions and discovers, loses and holds dear, and fashions poems from the "gemstones and receipts tumbling inside me."
