Casey Valdala has never fit in. She lives in a creepy, old house with her eccentric great-grandmother, Valencia. Everyone is afraid of the old woman. They claim she's a witch, and the kids at school carefully avoid Casey. When a family moves in nearby, Casey expects to be ignored as usual but finds herself falling for her handsome new neighbor, Blade. Blade and Casey begin spending all of their time together, but what starts out as a fun summer flirtation soon takes a frightening turn.
