The social scene in Italy in the 1500s leaves all the triumph and the advantage to mockery and shrewdness towards women, who are yet to ascend onto the collective ladder of presumed respect and appreciation. One of such women happens to be Suzanna Fiore, who got her social climbing started when her fortunate circumstances landed her in the arms of a prominent local doctor in Venice. However, destiny has its own plans for Suzanna. Her mesmerizing beauty and poetic mind bring men to her feet, with her suitors completely besotted with her amorous ways and enigmatic manners.
