The Animator

By the time she's a teenager, Gertrude Ravenscombe has a heart as black as the coal that comes out of the mines her father toils in every day.
Although she never loves, Gertrude does give birth to a baby boy. She names him Luther for no particular reason, and even though he annoys her with his good-natured personality, she can never bring herself to harm him.
Luther eventually marries and has a child of his own, Genevieve, leaving his mother free to go about her evil plotting. When Gertrude steals an ancient relic with great, otherworldly powers, she formulates a dark plan. She will use the relic, known as the Amulet of Animation, to pull apart her small town of Meridian, Michigan.
But Gertrude hasn't taken into account her granddaughter, Genevieve, who has been called upon by angels. With the help of the town sheriff, who happens to be handsome and single, and an eccentric FBI agent, they just may have a chance to stop her from carrying out her plan.
