That shadow on the Lagoon

The protagonist of this novel is Markus Tonebaker a young ichthyologist who graduated from the University of Portsmouth, a port city on the south coast of England. Immediately after graduating he moved to Italy with his sister Marta to start a specialization course on fish farms in Padua at the local university. After his sister's mysterious suicide, another death upsets Markus' life and pushes him to seek the truth in the mysteries of Venice, the city of waters, canals and bridges, which is famous for its beauty but also for the secrets which hides.
Over the centuries, the lagoon city has been the scene of numerous intrigues, plots and unsolved crimes that have fascinated writers, directors and tourists from all over the world.
