The history of Tamil tabloids reveals many interesting facts. It exemplifies the relentless efforts and silent struggles of a few with an idealistic outlook and the difficulties they accept. At the same time, history reveals their failure (inactivity and inaction if the word failure appears to be incorrect). Throughout the history of the tabloids there have been exciting press uprisings, and their 'go-and-go' ups and downs, in the character of 'Unwound Unhard and Unsung', which inadvertently - without praise - are bound to disappear without recollection. Yet, this history is the story of those who knowingly chose the difficult path, with undiminished motivation and low self-confidence, and with the stubbornness to achieve something.
