A struggling Hollywood Golden Age screenwriter collaborates with the world's greatest playwright. It's 1936 and Hollywood screenwriter Joe Holliday has a secret. He can see and communicate with ghosts. But because of a difficult childhood, he has long suppressed his ability. When the mercurial head of Apex Studios tasks him with writing a modern version of a Shakespeare play, Joe gradually regains his ability.
