Strange Events Even for an Apocalypse tells the tale of John Brightman. The story picks up after Ashley, a recon agent, frees Brightman from a biological prison. Ashley's mission, a simple one, is to return Brightman to the underground so the Elders can examine information recorded from a device implanted in his occipital lobe: vital secrets on how to defeat the creatures that attacked humanity years ago in a fight called the Flesh Wars.
