Social Story

This book provides an opportunity for parents and teachers to discuss possible strategies to overcome fears with children. A social story format was used to help children with special needs to identify challenging situations and alternative ways to handle their negative emotions. Fear can be real or imagined, but debilitating for many. Young children typically do not have the appropriate tools for emotional regulation. This book can help facilitate conversations about fear-provoking situations and possible strategies to decrease negative outcomes. This book was designed for parents, therapists and educators to read together with children in order to facilitate conversations about different emotions. Fluency in speech is required for understanding.
