Sino-Japanese Reflections

This volume gathers recent scholarship on the dynamics of Sino-Japanese literary and cultural interaction from the late Ming to the early 20th century. Its ten chapters trace in detail such topics as the circulation of specific texts, the approaches by which Chinese and Japanese scholars grappled with linguistic and cultural differences, and how shared genres and literary models served as sites of negotiation and creative re-appropriation.
