Silent Cries

Breanna arrived home from work, she had had an extremely busy day at the hospital, several emergencies keep the ER full of patients. The house she shared with John Evans was silent, most unusual, as John was always there to greet her. She showered and changed. Breanna headed down the internal stairs to the house on the ground floor. This house belonged to Steven Evans, Johns brother, well, adopted brother and his partner Alexis, John's biological sister. Making her way down the stairs Breanna could see Alexis sitting at the dining table drumming her fingers. 'Something's wrong, isn't it?' she asked tentatively.
'It's not like them to be late. They should have been home by now. John wanted to be here when you got home,' Alexis explained, 'I was working, they were bored, annoying me, I set them for a walk.'
