Rhetorical Argumentation in Philo of Alexandria

Alexandre's study of Philo began in 1980 and was informed by the shift in the field of rhetoric away from style and ornamentation toward theories of argumentation. He finds that the commentator on the Jewish scriptures had thoroughly mastered the conventions of the art.
