Gina was a recipient of The Poet of Merit Award Year 2000 bestowed upon her by The International Society of Poets at their 10th anniversary symposium that was held in Washington, DC and was hosted by talk show host, Mr. Montel Williams. A wheel chair bound paraplegic at the age of fifteen resulting from an auto accident, Gina immersed herself in the realm of poetry.
