Pique Ennui

An intensely feminist anthology, although at times self-deprecating and overwhelmingly pessimistic. Pique/Ennui serves the purpose of deconstructing the romanticism around suffering and the narrative that a person is defined by what they've been through. These poems include portrayals of topics such as validation, trauma, a premature preoccupation with death, mental illness and so much more. They follow a story of bitterness and resentment, a period of the author's life when they felt consumed by the unfortunate realities they witnessed. The anthology is divided into two parts: Pique tells a story constructed in anger and pain.
Ennui is what comes after; reflecting the author's present position navigating recovery and relearning who they are. A debut collection for today's world.
