Peter and Alexis

Peter and Alexis, a novel by Dmitriy Merezhkovsky, is the final book in The Christ and Antichrist Trilogy, a series in which the author explores his apocalyptic vision of Christianity's fulfillment in the twentieth century. The story portrays Peter the Great's conflict with his son, the Tsarevich Alexei, as the inevitable confrontation between Antichrist and Christ for the soul of humanity.
