Persuasion in Greek Tragedy

A distinctive feature of Greek culture was an interest in the interrelationships between persuasion (peitho), deception and violence. In this study, R. G. A. Buxton examines the concept of peitho before analysing plays by Aischylos, Sophokles and Euripides in which persuasion plays a major role.
