Our Faith Journey Through Cancer

When Taylor proposed, he didn't say "Velinda, will you marry me?" He had already determined that we would be married almost a year earlier. He had taken my hands across the restaurant table on a date night and said, "I know you haven't accepted it yet, but one day you will marry me." I initially thought that statement indicated he was a pompous jerk and marrying him was not in the cards. So when he did propose close to a year later, he pulled a ring out his shirt pocket and said "Darling, let's get married and grow old together." God had other plans for our marriage than us growing old together. A short 15 years later we entered into a journey no couple plans for when they wed. Less than a year after that I found myself a young widow at 48 years old. This book is about our Cancer Journey and my Journey into widowhood. There was substantial heartbreak, but also an extreme amount of love, growth and humor. God was faithful to us and to His plan. This is NOT an advice book or a how-to-guide; there are a lot of those already. This is simply about our journey and how God strengthened us and provided for us. Writing it was very helpful to me and I pray that the readers find hope and perspective in these pages.
