This book is the story of a girl born in Oslo, Norway, in the middle of World War II. Karin Sham Poo came from a working-class family, married early, and had a daughter but still managed to have an extraordinary careerfirst in her home country of Norway and then internationally. The book tracks how this became possible, what and who influenced her decisions, and how she became the person she is. After her first marriage ended in divorce, Sham Poo found happiness again with a man who continues to be enormously supportive.
