Can a rose recapture its fragrance, and its petals be refolded once more? Can the past ever be exercised from the mind of an ongoing life? From Dr. Brighton, we know the answer. History cannot be changed once unfolded; however, corrections can be introduced, changing the outcome.
Claudette and Wesley were sharing one- and one-half lives. Half of his was missing; it was a void that often-created uneasiness. Following nearly 22 of Wesley's first years were presumed to be normal, could anybody know for sure?
Only Ed knew, and he would go to his grave, sharing nothing of Wesley's past, except it be put in a splendid light. Speech regarding Wes's early years seemed always to fall on Ed, as though Wesley lacked the confidence to own them. Never spoken, yet some quietly wondered about those years.
