Now, the AIO sends another assassin, Ion Edur, to Gibson City, Illinois, to kill him.

In the last few years, he had traveled a long comeback trail to major league baseball. Along the way, he had benefited from stops with the Central Illinois Magicians, Tokyo Giants, Beijing Tigers, and the Seoul Cranes. He had been injured two times and had endured two major surgeries on his throwing arm. Secretly, he was working on his second comeback attempt.

He had benefitted by being with several wonderful women who had enriched his life, including Lore Lehoi, Christine Abene, Yeong Hyeon, and Luisa Gaicia, all of whom had died in his presence. His one true love, his wife Akemi Gang Gatewood, and their son Tai, had also died in his arms.

He had dodged assassination attempts from the AIO terrorist organization, the Yakaza crime family, and evil dictators. He had been honored by Kings of State, and become friends with many world leaders.

He had been at the crossroads of his life many times. He knew that situation would continue.
