Om Levelling Mountain-high Gaps

The programme of Visionary Education was launched in 2008, regulated by the China Association for NGO Cooperation (CANGO). It consists of two flagship sections: 'Global Leadership Fellowship for Headmasters in Mountain Regions in China' and 'I SEE Initiative'. The former has attracted the participation of nearly 200 headmasters from all over China, and the latter has benefited tens of thousands of students. In 2020, China was victorious in the fight against poverty, bringing to an end a problem that has plagued the Chinese people for thousands of years. At this key historical point, Visionary Education invited nearly 60 outstanding headmasters from mountainous areas to share their experiences of school governance, management strategies, innovative practices, forward-thinking, educational challenges and corresponding countermeasures. It is expected to help more rural educators in China and provide a paradigm and reference for education poverty alleviation in impoverished societies worldwide. The Chinese edition of this book ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿was published in 2020 by Economic Press China (EPC), founded in 1985. It is a well-known economic professional and information dissemination publisher, with a good reputation in intellectual, cultural and economic circles in China. The Overseas Chinese edition is published in 2022 by Global Century Press (GCP), founded in 2014, a UK-based publisher dedicated to publishing academic and popular books in the social sciences and the humanities bilingually in a global context. This is the fourth book in the Understanding China and the World book series. The series was designed in 2014 by Professor ZHENG Hangsheng (1936-2014), Former Vice-President of Remin University of China; former President of the Chinese Sociological Association, China. Professor ZHENG co-authored the General Preface with Xiangqun Chang, Honorary Professor of University College London (2015-2020); President of Global China Academy, UK. It is now edited by Professor Xiangqun Chang, and published by Global Century Press from 2017.
