William tries to reunite his relatives in his old age. Marked by the countless illnesses, the hard, difficult life, but by the quarrels within the family, he longs for his death. He finds trust, understanding, love and honesty only in his son. James, however, continues to be resented by many, because everyone hopes to gain access to the Shrimes legacy or to divert attention from their own shortcomings. There may be a superficial calm in Kenya, but there is seething under the façade and it can escalate again at any time. Despite the new, highly acclaimed constitution, an immense potential of politicians, in fact nothing is changing.
