Katie's Story

This is a true story my Mother told me about her own life. From the moment she was born she was a woman of courage, birthed into a family that did not want her. She had to fight for her rightful place in this world and she succeeded. With much faith to sustain her, she was determined to fight the many uphill battles that lay in her path with discipline and kindness. She always hoped for a better future, surviving one day at a time. As you will read in the following pages, she lost a family, survived challenging times, was thrust into a world she'd never known, but managed to find love, marriage, her own kids and family. She knew joy and hardship as she navigated a challenging world. She loved her expanding family dearly, and later in life never forgot a grandchild's birthday until they reached the age of eighteen. Every year all of them happily knew a card would be coming with a five dollar bill inside for them. I hope you enjoy reading this book as she was truly a fantastic woman. I feel her story is well worth sharing.
