When four black teens are arrested for killing a white teen in South Atlanta, young crime reporter Carrie Sue Justice discovers one of the black teens is innocent. Carrie Sue is determined to prove Tatum Brookins' innocence, despite the turmoil of divorcing her cheating husband and getting drawn into a sexual relationship with powerful publisher Marcus Handley.
Carrie Sue soon realizes she can't allow her personal problems to interfere. Her best friend Freemont Jackson offers his assistance, unaware of the danger. Unfortunately, their best efforts fail, and Tatum must stand trial for murder. Will justice prevail or not?
