Joyzelle

Joyzelle is a play in four acts written by Maurice Maeterlinck. This edition is translated into English by Alexander Teixeira de Mattos and Alfred Sutro. The play is a tragic fairy tale about Joyzelle, a fairy queen, who leaves her realm and falls in love with a mortal. Her actions set off a series of events that lead to her own destruction and the downfall of her realm.
