This collection is the 8th issue of the series "Issues of Ethnogenesis and Ethnic History of the Peoples of Central Asia". The collection consists of 4 parts. The 1st part "Turkic-speaking peoples" presents the article by G. M. Tanieva "The Manghit Tribe and their ethnic history". M. Tanieva's article "The Manghit Tribe and their role in the History of Uzbek Statehood" and A. Khodjaev's article "On the localization of the place of the original habitation of the Usuns (information from Chinese sources and literature)". The 2nd part "Iranian-speaking peoples" contains an article by Sh. S. Kamoliddin "On the origin of the ethnonym Tajik. Part 8", in which the information of the Hungarian traveler A. Vambery is considered. The 3rd part "Migrations" contains 3 articles by the Ukrainian scientist Ya. V. Pylypchuk, which traces the processes of ethnic history of Crimean Tatars, his deportation during the Stalinist repressions and return to Crimea after the collapse of the USSR: "Crimean Gothia. To the question of pre-Turkic history of mountainous Crimea", "How Crimea became Russian. Crimean Tatars from annexation to deportation" and "Crimean Tatars: from deportation to the second Russian annexation of Crimea". Part 4 "New Books" provides information about the 11th issue of the journal "Sogdian Collection".
