How I Used My Lows to Lift Me, Not Limit Me

Growing up in a small, rural town in Middle GA, success looked more like a cornfield or peach and pecan orchard and rarely looked like me. I was determined to change the picture and did just that by being a first-generation high school and college graduate. Earning two Bachelor of Arts degrees in Criminal Justice and Sociology, a Master of Public Administration, and a Master of Science degree in Criminal Justice all before the age of 32, I had a story. How I Used My Lows to Lift Me, Not Limit Me: Becoming a Hard-boiled Egg - A Tough Shell to Crack depicts my determination and willingness as a young small-town girl in chronological order to form a hard outer shell that would ultimately assist me in making a name for myself. Even with a turbulent childhood, I was able to land a federal career and higher education career simultaneously to place me on more stable soil and position me for success as an adult. Remember an egg may be fragile, but when it is hard-boiled, it develops a firmer inner and outer shell which takes effort to crack into it. That's my story!
