Om From Gulliver to Glory
In this memoir, Darold Hill reflects on his ministry of 62 years as a pastor in the Free Methodist Church. He traces his roots back to his great grandparents, including Harrison Hill and his brother John Wesley Hill who was a pioneer Methodist pastor in Ohio. His great grandfather rode horseback to 19 preaching points. Hill writes the stories of his maternal grandpa James Hanes working as a lumber jack in the upper peninsula of Michigan near Crystal Falls in the late 1800s. The author shares stories of his rugged growing up years near Gulliver, Michigan, with a large family of eight boys and four girls living in small log cabin. He includes the night when a large black bear came into their log cabin. He tells of his experiences as a pastor and conference superintendent giving oversight to 68 churches.
