The author exerts his "writer's privilege" taking a factual situation (The surrender of Japan to Allied forces to end World War II) and fanaticizes writing a future story involving people, places, inventions, and potential events which take place over a century and dramatically affect the life and power of two nations. It is a story of future happenings which still could possibly occur should small changes be made to current political, cultural, and economic trends. The writer apologizes for any coincidences that portray any present or future individuals or corporate entities which may be identified or be in some way responsible or related to the events, as this story is intended to be a fictional novel created for its dramatic effect and is not intended to idolize, criticize, or demean individuals or businesses that may exist or can participate in future events. The little yellow bee is as happy as he can be. When you see little bees in the springtime, they are dancing around flowers and sucking up nectar. Bees are so vital to our environment, and the honey they make is so sweet. Bees pollinate other flowers. Without the little yellow bee, what will happen to our flowering trees and flowers, and where would we get all that sweet honey?I would sing the little yellow bee to my grandchildren. They encouraged me to published this book. I try to teach my grandchildren how important the environment is to the bees, so never harm them and grow lots of blooming flowers to help them survive this world.
Life with depression takes its toll on everyone not only the person effected with the illness . I hope maybe this book will give a little insight into this illness and help those that have been effected by depression. I try to describe what I have gone through in my depressive state the best way that I can in this book. Everyone who has this illness goes through it in different ways. My hope is for people to realize that they aren't alone and help can be found. Don't give up as tomorrow may be the new day you have been searching for. Kathy Lenz Toavs
Five characters, five tales. Meet Endy, a writer trapped in a torrid love affair with Manhattan; Dana, a young woman on a crusade to save the souls of the city's sinners; an emotionally barren tattooist who lives to inflict pain onto others; a homeless bum whose bizarre delusions reflect the madness of those around him; and Shade, a harrowingly dark figure whose relentless search for purpose and meaning leads him into Manhattan's underground world of violence, crime, and perverse sexuality. Hidden tales and plots are unfolded as each character crosses and re-crosses the paths of the other characters. The Manhattanites provides an insightful glimpse into life, love, and existence in the modern world.
