Drugs, addiction, eating disorders, cutting, and loss. While these aren't topics for the faint of heart, they are timely and reflect the experiences of many people facing difficulties in life today.Your Tiny Empire unflinchingly explores these topics to present poetry coming from a person living in a dark place struggling to find a better way, a better life. Many of these verses illustrate the hurt, loss and struggle of a tortured soul searching for love, happiness, and forgiveness-something that hasn't come from inside a needle and a bottle or from self-abuse and loathing. A few also focus on love, albeit often unrequited, and slivers of hope. They tell a story that hasn't ended yet and for which ending isn't yet clear-something only time can reveal. This collection of poetry explores drug addiction, eating disorders, and loss from the perspective of one seeking to overcome these struggles and find healing.

The Nightingale is a chamber opera that is complete in one act and lasts about an hour. It is written for 6 voices (S, S, S, M, Bar, Bar). The original scoring is for Flute, Cello, and two percussionists. This version replaces all mallet percussion instruments with a piano. The story, based on Hans Christian Andersen's fairy tale, centers around a well-liked but brash Emperor and his quest to have all of the most beautiful things. When the Emperor hears of the Nightingale, a bird rumored to have to the most beautiful song of all, he sends out the Chancellor to find it and bring it back to the palace. The Nightingale comes to court and amazes the Emperor with her song, but she is soon supplanted by a music box, the Mechanical Nightingale. The Nightingale leaves and the Emperor is furious, banishing her from the empire. Years pass and the emperor is on his deathbed, but before the spirits of the next world can take him away, the Nightingale returns and scatters the dark spirits with her voice.
When Jesus came, he revolutionized religion on our planet. He revealed a higher vision of God and a deeper understanding of the requirements and rewards for entering the kingdom of heaven. But, that vision has been ignored, distorted, or denied both by believers and nonbelievers alike. In The Liberal Leanings of the Liberating Lamb, author Bob Fronterhouse discusses that Christianity, as taught and practiced today, is too small to fulfill the word and will of Jesus.Fronterhouse calls attention to the neglected teachings of Jesus, and he shows that without action, the words are meaningless. He points out the mistake of today's focus on theological ideas instead of following Jesus' examples and teachings in everyday life. When one acts according to Jesus' example, religion moves in the right direction of discipleship and the world, in turn, becomes a better place.
