When Private Investigator Tod Peterson finds himself incarcerated in Edinburgh Jail he goes looking for answers in the only way he knows how. He goes looking to the past. He'd heard often enough that the pen is mightier than the sword, and in his case that might make a welcomed change. Being handed that laptop by a fellow inmate meant taking up his weapon of choice.

"Perry is a splendid type of the Negro genius." -Men of Mark (1887)"Perry is considered one of the best scholars the negro race has produced." -Appletons' Annual Cyclopaedia (1896)"Perry is able to offer hope for modern Cushites in the prophesied moment when Cush will 'stretch out her hands unto God.'" -Light Against Darkness (2010)"Rufus Perry traced the ancestry of Black Americans to the biblical Cushites." - Black Women in United States History (1990)"For Perry the contribution of Black people to world civilization was immeasurable." - Philosophy of Religion and the African American Experience (2017)"Perry considered the greatness of the African past to be the foundation of the African American's future." -Liberating Faith (2003)"Perry placed the cradle of Western culture in Ethiopia." -Mind and Mood of Black America (1969)"Perry is ever ready to defend his race. He is a ready, bold, fearless." - Our Baptist Ministers and Schools (1892)Before the great civilizations of Greece, Persia, China, and Rome there was the land of Ham, of Cush and the Cushite; the land of the chosen of God in which to train his peculiar people, according to Rufus Lewis Perry D.D., Ph.D., (1834-1895), an escaped slave, Negro Baptist clergyman, missionary, educator and journalist. In his groundbreaking 1893 book, "The Cushite, Or, The Descendants of Ham," Perry makes the case that "the enemies of the negro maintain that the distinguished Ethiopians and the Egyptians of such frequent and favorable mention, in both sacred and profane history, were not black men. They ingeniously explained the black man away, and cunningly substituted some other race. They seemingly forget that the ancient language is a constructive tale-bearer; that its roots are etymological indices, twinkling like the fixed stars to light up the pathway of the scholar engaged in historic research."In writing of the greatness of the ancient Cushites, Perry writes:"He has had a checkered life, it is true, but so have the Shemitic and the Japhetic families. He has been master and he has been slave; but this is no less true of Ham than of Japhet. In the world's history of the rise and fall of nations, no face, no color, can boast of exemption from misfortune. But no race can boast of higher celebrity in ancient times than the negro, then called Cushites by the Hebrews and Ethiopians by the Greeks."
This book is about the challenges and successes of a long and mostly very hard life and what these experiences have taught the author. It's an eclectic mix of an exraordinary life story, starting at the end of World War 2, seeing life afresh with newly awakened 'autistic eyes' and a spiritual journey. The overall aim in writing this book is to bring comfort, hope, wisdom and guidance to others, whatever journey they're on.Many of us consider our liberation can be found in our current belief system. So, we struggle and strive unsuccessfully to find the answers there. But what if our current thought or belief system is the cause and not the answer? We have two choices then. One option is, we can cling doggedly to our thought systems, refusing to question or consider any thoughts that go beyond it. We can then define ourselves as victims, or we are faulty in some way. Something or someone must be to blame for our failure?Or we can take a risk, a leap of faith and seriously question those beliefs. We have nothing to lose but our misery - it's all in the choosing!

96-year-old Doreen Roberts is the oldest resident of Bouldon, a hamlet of fourteen houses and a dairy farm at the foot of the Brown Clee in Shropshire.Born in Brighton in 1926, she grew up in London, Birmingham, Guernsey and Weston-super-Mare. She came from a theatrical family but, not having a singing voice like her mother and grandmother, had drawing talent. She studied part-time at the Central London Art School and worked in a book shop and Rowney's art supplies factory before getting seasonal work at Glyndebourne Opera House in Sussex. She later worked full time in the wig room at the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden before giving up to marry Norman Roberts, a canal boat builder in Birmingham. They retired to live a quiet secluded life in 1984 where she joined the Corvedale Artists and, over the years, exhibited many of her drawings and watercolours.
The Forgotten Oneness delves into the fundamental teaching of the oneness of God in the Bible. This book examines the use of singular personal pronouns and clear statements about God's singularity in both the Old and New Testaments, and how this belief is the cornerstone of Judaism and early Christianity. The book also challenges traditional and mainstream Christian beliefs, including the doctrine of the Trinity, and argues for the importance of understanding the oneness of God in matters of worship and salvation.
We all want wisdom and we know the book of Proverbs overflows with it. The issue is we don't know how to harvest it from its pages. This 31-day devotional will teach you how.

This tightly knit group of Warriors, including loved ones, share their triumphs and challenges in dealing with this disease. For the past 18 months, Joel has written weekly Thankful Friday Posts and shared with this group. He started writing these posts for two reasons. First, to give other Warriors hope, purpose, optimism, and strength so they could meet head on this disease. Second, he realized that by sharing his innermost thoughts with this group, it would give him purpose, optimism, and strength to fight and win his personal war against Stage IV Renal Cancer. This book compiles over 18 months of Thankful Friday posts, some of which have been slightly edited. He hopes his posts are not only valuable to those with Renal Cell Cancer, but beneficial to those suffering life changing challenges regardless of cause. All profits from this book with go to either the Kidney Cancer Association or the Judy Nicholson Kidney Cancer Foundation.
In this new book of verses Renée takes a risk: in a time of anger in full bloom her words take a road much less travelled. Rather than being seduced by the wonderful power of anger she asks a bigger question of the reader: what do you do when the anger doesn't work? It may be our advocate and champion, but as a tool it is a blunt instrument. Anger serves us well by waking us up from complacency and turning a bright light on injustice, but by itself it brings no justice; only the escalation of anger meeting more anger. It takes courage to confront the seduction and suggest we break that ancient cycle: "What else is there? Where do we go from here?"

Thermodynamics is the study of very complex systems and so is the foundation for all applied physical sciences. The standard theory is predicated on two assumptions: that entropy is maximum in equilibrium (the Second Law of Thermodynamics) and that fluctuations mimic average flow behavior (Onsager reciprocal relations). Both of these assumptions are shown to be invalid, which is why standard theory remains semi-empirical after 170 years. Why rely on static 19th century arguments when we now know far more about microscopic dynamics? In this treatise, the author extends quantum mechanics to macroscopic scale, building a concrete bridge from fundamental physics to the phenomena we observe. Transport equations are derived without empirical factors, implying flow is always toward a stable equilibrium steady state. This new theory is comprehensive and achieves unambiguous conclusions directly, without introducing entropy or additional postulates. This approach also reveals that entropy is not maximum in equilibrium except in ideal systems, contradicting the Second Law. Real systems evolve to a balanced state, not disorder. Standard theory is incompatible with quantum mechanics. This conclusion alters the rationale for all observations, from simple processes to evolution of the cosmos and intelligent life.Thermodynamics Without Entropy presents a complete theory including all logical steps from fundamental physics to demonstration of a variety of applications. It grounds applied science for physicists, chemists, biologists and engineers of all fields. This book is intended for use as an undergraduate and graduate textbook as well as a research reference.

A history that has been hidden in the darkness, kept form the world to legitimise theft, violence, and dishonour. Whole edifices have been built to this idiom. Intuitions have crafted functions, cannons, and academic discourses to keep this secret. The black man/woman's achievement have been ignored by a western civilisation that built upon their creation of society. Their inventions miss-attributed by reinvention, their philosophies discredited, and their cultures assimilated. In the hope that they would forget and not remember their former glory and therefore forget the betrayal of their former trading partners, the western Europeans. But they did not forget, they did remember and despite all they have been put through, their heads remain held high in their remembrance of all that went before. Yet, the black man/woman does not reciprocate in the wholesale violence perpetrated on their ancestors. Nor do they sink into the dark sullen debased vengeful hate typical of those who urged and advocated the construct of racism, they have not taken hatred's bate. They have not succumbed to the urges of paranoia revenge so readily given into by the Europeans, even after the murder of their brothers, sisters, their children, and their wife's, not even after their rape, maiming, and barbaric lynching. The black man /woman are truly remarkable human beings, from truly magnificent ancestors, a truly magnificent people. Surely, if human beings are made in the image of God the Father, then they are made in this image- a servant, humble, forgiving, strong, loving, durable, resourceful, clever, persistent, proud, flexible, humble, hard-working, generous, innovative, intelligent, understanding, inventive, creative and a survivor, black survivor...

Yes, shadows that threatened so much that had naturally enough been just taken for granted. So, like throwing a stone in the pond, the ripples from this engulfed whole communities, questions about the true legality of land ownership and even a senior politician's integrity.Amongst it all, however, the ancient wisdom about harmony with nature was rediscovered and an icon was miraculously reinstated to celebrate it.
