Septiembre de 1475. Un derrumbamiento destruye buena parte del Convento de Nuestra Señora de los Ángeles de la Hoz, ubicado a orillas del río Duratón. Su reconstrucción corre a cargo de la reina Isabel, quien antes del desastre, y en alguna otra ocasión después, estuvo alojada en dicha casa franciscana, que llegaría a convertirse años después en la primera escuela misionera española. Desde unos tristes sucesos ocurridos en la villa de Sepúlveda años atrás, fruto de la creciente agitación antijudía que comenzaba a prender en la población, un fraile del Convento, David, recibe del guardián del convento el delicado mandato de contactar con la mismísima reina, para demandar y lograr su ayuda. En el transcurso de la historia, confluyen la injusticia del Corregidor de Sepúlveda, la villa de las siete llaves, y el desastre natural sufrido por el Convento.
