  • - Molybdenum Nitride and Oxynitrides
    av Bhanu Ranjan
    491,-

Flexible Supercapacitors (FSCs) possessing higher power output, greater energy density, extended cycle life, superior rate performance, and eco-friendly attributes can satisfy the future energy storage and delivery requirements in upcoming flexible electronics. However, the current supercapacitors (SCs) technology based on carbonaceous or conducting polymers is constrained primarily by their low energy density, restraining their large-scale implementation. In this context, Pseudocapacitive materials such as Transition metal nitrides (TMNs) and transition metal oxides (TMOs) that undergo rapid and highly reversible redox and intercalation kinetics at or near the electrode surface, coupled with electric double-layer capacitive (EDLC) kinetics, can assist FSCs in achieving higher energy and power densities simultaneously.

  • - Market Status & Factors Affecting Consumer Preference in Locally-made and Imported Pasta
    av Minosh Dilshan
    467,-

The unavoidable phenomena of globalization is making the entire planet into a single market. In addition to lowering barriers to international trade and facilitating the flow of information and knowledge, globalization has also caused the world to shrink as it has linked individuals from various cultural backgrounds and made the world a truly global community. As the world becomes a single market, globalization has played a significant role in empowering businesses all over the world to expand their operations into foreign markets and leave behind their closed-off home markets. Goods and services are now confidently sold on a global scale. National borders are becoming less important as a result of this circumstance. Furthermore, this scenario finally led to a sharp rise in worldwide rivalry, which is putting local market-focused businesses at a disadvantage and causing them to progressively lose the competitive edge they have worked so hard to get. From the perspective of the consumer, various customer categories appear to have diverse responses to the dominance of multinational brands. It appears that some consumers cherish and revere global brands and perceive them as status symbols. However, some consumers may believe that multinational corporations are erasing national identities by imposing Western cultures on our society and endangering regional distinctiveness. The book at the habits of different customer types who use the same product, both locally produced and imported from other countries.

Weeds along with insect pests and plant diseases are sources of biotic stress in crop systems. Weeds are responsible for serious problems in rice worldwide affecting growth and causing a considerable reduction in quality and quantity in yield. Herbicide-resistant rice varieties in combination with pre-emergent-broad-spectrum herbicides and post-emergent broad-spectrum herbicides improve the effectiveness of weed management in rice fields. Herbicide resistance can be acquired naturally or induced by classical or modern breeding techniques. High concentration of Glyphosate, a pre-emergent-broad-spectrum systemic herbicide, is prevalently applied to control rice weeds in Sri Lanka, which intern causes severe damages to cultivated rice varieties which are susceptible to Glyphosate. However, there are rice varieties with natural Herbicide Resistance (HR). Six traditional and eighteen inbred, cultivated rice varieties (Bg, Bw, At and Ld series developed by Rice Research Development Institute, Sri Lanka) were used to screen their natural HR. As observations, time taken-to seed germination, time taking to flowering; plant height and number of leaves at 12-weeks after sawing, leaf-length, breadth, panicle-length, number of seeds/panicles of resistant plants and controls were recorded. Plants with >= 40% resistance were considered as resistant to Glyphosate. Ten inbred rice varieties (Bg250, Bg94-1, Bg304, Bg359, Bg406, Bg379-2, Bg366, Bg300, Bw364, At362) and three traditional rice varieties ("Kalu Heenati", "Sudu Heenati", "Pachchaperumal") were naturally resistant to 0.25 g L-1 Glyphosate concentration and when increased the concentration (0.5 gL-1) resistance were reduced. The post-emergent broad-spectrum herbicide, Glufosinate is also applied to control rice weeds in Sri Lanka. Two traditional varieties ("Pachchaperumal", "Ma Wee") and fifteen inbred varieties (At362, Bg250, Bg300, Bg352, Bg357, Bg358, Bg359, Bg360, Bg366, Bg369, Bg379/2, Bg403, Bg450, Bg454, and Bg94-1) were screened for their natural HR resistant to Glufosinate.

Contaminated ponds can become reservoirs of antibiotic-resistant strains of faecal bacteria including enterococci which are capable of contributing to the spread of antimicrobial resistance into the marine environment. As such, this book aimed to characterize the antimicrobial resistance profile of Enterococcus species from fish ponds in Benin City, Edo State. A total of 376 water samples were obtained from four different fish ponds between February and July, 2015 and were investigated for the presence of Enterococcus species using standard bacteriological methods. The antimicrobial susceptibility profile of the isolates were determined by adopting the Kirby-Bauer disk diffusion method. From the 376 water samples analysed for the presence of enterococci isolates, 100 isolates each from Enterococcus faecalis and Enterococcus faecium were isolated from the four fish ponds investigated. The mean enterococal counts from the four fish ponds investigated ranged from 4±0.01 × 102 to 12±0.17 × 102 CFU/ml. Statistical analysis reveals that there was a significant difference observed in the mean enterococcal counts obtained from the four different fish ponds in the study (p p r = 0.876) of the multidrug resistant profile on the number of isolates studied was observed (p > 0.05). Adherence to adequate and proper use of manure products and frequent discharge of water from fish pond will reduce the high level of antimicrobial resistance in Enterococcus species isolated from fish ponds and also reduce the potential risk to human health.

  • - Coastal Wetland Common Reed Early Life History
    av Jing Jia
    467,-

Phragmites australis, capable of both sexual and asexual reproduction, widely distributes along the tidal flat gradient in the Dongtan coastal salt marsh wetlands of Chongming. To examine whether P. australis display cross-generational adaptation, seeds from different tidal flat habitats were collected and stored under various temperature. Subsequently, the effects of soil properties in the original habitats, seed storage temperature and salinity conditions on seed germination strategies were explored. When the salinity up to 150/00, the germination rate of P. australis seeds was 1.3% - 7.7%. Low seed-storage temperatures (4 C) significantly enhanced germination rates and potentials, compared to those stored at room temperature (20 C). Soil salinity and water content were major factors influenced germination rates after storing seeds at 4 C. However, germination rates and potentials were positively correlated with the soil P content. Meanwhile, the seed germination indexes and speeds were more significantly affected by the room temperature. Both seed storage temperatures and the tidal flats had a positive direct impact on the germination parameters of seeds. However, soil N/P had a positive indirect effect on the seed germination parameters only at the lower seed-storage temperature. The results indicated that vernalization (low-temperature seed storage) differentially promoted the germination of P. australis seeds collected from the tidal flat gradient in a subtropical marine monsoon climate salt marsh area and demonstrated cross-generational adaptation. Consequently, using seeds collected from P. australis populations along the tidal flat gradient to restore the original population could be considered an effective and economical method.

Set Theory is a formalization of the existence and fundamental properties of mathematical objects as collections of elements and/or elements included in collections. Its formulation is so basic and comprehensive that it has been postulated as the foundation of all mathematics. Perhaps, the major achievement of Set Theory is that, after being criticized by many reputable mathematicians and philosophers since its appearance, it is now commonly accepted as the primary explanation of the most basic components of mathematics: numbers; and not only the numbers we have needed or we may ever need but all the numbers that could potentially exist. In Set Theory, an infinite sequence of numbers exists not as the mere projection of a construction algorithm but as a complete and self-identical mathematical object: a set. In Set Theory the words infinite and infinity do not refer to the property of growing endlessly (potential infinity) but to a definite magnitude; a number; the actual infinity. As a result of such a conception, Set Theory arrives at the conclusion that there exist infinitely many infinities, each one with a different value. The set of postulates, proofs and theorems used to justify the existence of such infinities is commonly known as Transfinite Set-Theory. The first part of this work shows how some of the properties and theorems applied to infinite sets, in Set Theory, necessarily lead to internal and fundamental contradictions under classical logic, even when the idea of actual infinity is accepted. Throughout the second part, motivated by the necessity of an alternative to Transfinite Set-Theory, due to the incapacity of such a theory to explain some of the findings shown in the first part (especially the proof of the existence of as many rational as irrational numbers), the author develops a theory to provide a better understanding of infinite sequences of numbers.

In the quiet corridors of self-discovery, the weight of six simple words hang heavy: "You are just like your father." For many young adults, these words echo through the chambers of identity, triggering a complex dance between rebellion and acceptance. It's a phrase that carries with it the legacy of traits, quirks, and idiosyncrasies passed down through generations. It is a reminder of family traits passed down through generations, making self-reflection a complex dance with the shadows of paternal influence. Is it a nod to the shared strengths, a reminder of resilience, or an unwelcome whisper of inherited shortcomings? This selfhood journey becomes a delicate waltz, navigating the paradoxes of resemblance. So, to those who dread those six words, remember, it's not a sentence but a question-an invitation to navigate the delicate balance between legacy and self-discovery, to embrace, reject, and ultimately sculpt an identity uniquely your own. The echoes of your generational past may linger, but in the dance of "you are just like your father," the rhythm is yours to define.

  • - The Obligate Aerobic Microorganisms in the goat Rumen
    av Rongjiao Wang
    491,-

The rumen serves as a complex ecosystem, harboring diverse microbial communities that play crucial ecological roles. Because previous studies have predominantly focused on anaerobic microorganisms, limited attention has been given to aerobic microorganisms in the goat rumen. This study aims to explore the diversity of aerobic microorganisms in the rumen and understand their niche and ecological roles. Rumen fluid samples were collected from 6 goats at different time points post-morning feeding. pH, NH3-N, and volatile fatty acid (TVFA) concentrations were measured, while In vitro cultivation of aerobic microorganisms was performed using PDA medium. Internal Transcribed Spacer (ITS) and 16S sequencing unveiled microbial diversity within the rumen fluid samples. Evidence of obligate aerobic microorganisms in the goat rumen suggests their potential contribution to ecological functionalities. Significantly, certain aerobic microorganisms exhibited correlations with TVFA levels, implying their involvement in TVFA metabolism. This study provides evidence of the existence and potential ecological roles of obligate aerobic microorganisms in the goat rumen. The findings underscore the significance of comprehensively deciphering goat rumen microbial communities and their interactions, with aerobes regarded as permanent residents rather than transients. These insights form a solid foundation for advancing our understanding of the intricate interplay between goat and their aerobic microorganisms in the rumen.

This book presents a broad explanation on the effect of performance of an open-loop and closed loop control of a Brushless Direct Current (BLDC) Motor drive supplied from a two-level voltage source inverter (VSI) working on 120-degree mode of conduction, simulated in MATLAB based software for both No-load and load condition. BLDC motors are superior to other motors because of the high reliability, good efficiency, high power concentration, simplicity of control and mainly the brushless operation. It is found that by tuning the value of rotor position the variation in torque can be minimized. Different performance parameters for no-load and load condition of the BLDC motor like phase voltages and currents, speed, electromagnetic torque, direct-axis, quadrature-axis current and rotor position etc. are determined in MATLAB environment. This book focuses on exploring and estimating the efficiency of a continuous brushless DC motor (PMBLDC) drive, controlled by a current controller with various combinations of Classical Controllers as Proportional Integral, Genetic Algorithm based PI, Proportional Integral Derivative Controller. Typical PWM operated control strategy is applied in the conventional two-level voltage source inverter (VSI) fed permanent magnet (BLDC) motor to minimize the torque ripple. As the inner current loop should be ahead in procedure associated with the external speed loop, thus PI controllers are mostly chosen as a current controller. These controller gains are enhanced by means of two optimization methods of Particle swarm optimization and Genetic algorithm to get a better response by eliminating steady-state error, maximum peak overshoot and decreasing the rising time, peak time, of the projected Brushless Direct Control motor drive.

Romanticism is an ideology shaped a great deal of Western civilization's late 18th- and mid-19th-century literature, art, music, architecture, etc. Romanticism was characterized by the following attitudes: a greater appreciation of nature's beauty; an overall exaltation of emotion over reason and the senses over intellect. This is shown in the selected poems that are written by the author like "The Effect of Daffodil Flowers on William Wordsworth's Mood" "Romantic Poets Love Nature and Celebrate it in Different Aspects" "Symbolism in Blake's Animal Poems "Lamb and Tyger" An Analytical and Descriptive Study" The term "Victorian poetry" refers to poetry written during 1832-1901, during Queen Victoria's reign. Victorian poems utilize imagery, relying on the senses to get the poet's message across. The poets depict a great deal of emotion and passion about their subjects. Victorian poetry is characterized by an evolution of form and technique. Sensory imagery received emphasis, and paradoxically, there are both humorous and whimsical tones alongside pessimism and isolation. . Some of Browning's finest poems are, My Last Duchess, The Bishop etc. Some of the poems written by the author are" In the Poem My Last Duchess the Duke Suffers from Personality Disorders, My Last Duchess" Poem from a Psychosocial and Social Point of View Modernism, a literary movement from 1890 to 1950, influenced cultural changes and rejected previous movements. T.S. Eliot's "The Wasteland" and "The Love Song of J. Alfred Prufrock" reflect modern poetic styles, highlighting human psychological fragility and pessimism.. Some of these poems written by the writer is "Alfred Prufrock Suffered from Self-Awareness Disorder Which Led Him to Social Anxiety" Pessimism Feature is Reflected in One of Thomas Hardy's Poems"Ah, Are You Digging on My Grave?"

These notes have been written with the precisely purpose of summarizing the more often encountered and implemented volatility estimation techniques, to describe the realized volatility surface and its term structure, for example in developing Option Pricing libraries. The common and accepted assumptions behind the random fashion, that each quoted and traded asset follows, there are stochastic differential equations (SDEs) characterized by two main terms: one is the drift and the other one is the diffusion term or volatility. If the drift term is set uniquely by the definition of the martingale measure, imposing the drift's value under such risk neutral measure, to be equal to the free interest rate; on the other side, the diffusion term or volatility is not estimated or defined uniquely. Indeed, the latter is estimated involving several different approaches, that over the time have been developed, trying to catch a better fit with the observed options' quotation.

"The Essence of Atrocity Unveiled in the Land of India" delves deep into the dark underbelly of a nation often romanticized for its vibrant culture and rich history. In this compelling exploration, the author confronts the uncomfortable truths that mar the fabric of Indian society, exposing the raw wounds of injustice and oppression that persist beneath the surface. Through a tapestry of personal accounts, historical analysis, and investigative journalism, the book paints a vivid picture of the myriad forms of atrocity that plague the land. From caste-based discrimination to religious violence, gender inequality, the author leaves no stone unturned in their quest to uncover the essence of suffering in India. One of the central themes explored in the book is the pervasive influence of caste hierarchy on every aspect of life in India. "The Essence of Atrocity Unveiled in the Land of India" is a powerful and timely reckoning with the realities of injustice in one of the world's most populous and complex nations. By shining a light on the darkest corners of Indian society, the author invites readers to confront uncomfortable truths and join the ongoing struggle for a more just and equitable future.

Social insurance is the main pillar of the social security system in a socialist-oriented market economy, making an important contribution to achieving progress and social justice, ensuring political and social stability, people's lives, and the sustainable development of the country. Social insurance not only has the function of helping people proactively ensure compensation or partial replacement of income when facing risks but also reduces pressure on the social assistance system. After more than 25 years of organizing, implementing, and managing social insurance, health insurance, and unemployment insurance funds, Vietnam's social insurance system is growing stronger in both scale and scope of operations. Along with many measures to deploy, exploit, and develop social insurance participants, they are still not convincing and do not really participate voluntarily. From there, it will put pressure on society in resolving future relationships, specifically in ensuring social security, and in developing the nation's economy according to socialist regulation direction. Therefore, a study is needed to resolve this issue. This book focuses on three main issues, as follows: First: Assess the current status of voluntary insurance activities in the Mekong Delta, on that basis identify issues that need to be researched and resolved in voluntary insurance in the Mekong Delta.Second: Identify and measure the influence of factors affecting the decision to participate in voluntary social insurance of people in the Mekong Delta region.Third: Propose solutions to expand voluntary social insurance in the Mekong Delta region. The Study uses a non-probability, convenient and quota sampling method through a survey of 370 people in the Mekong Delta as a database to test the research hypotheses.Through the PLS-SEM model, with Bootstrap technique and with reference to 10 domestic and 33 foreign studies on Voluntary Social Insurance participation intention, the authors have identified 7 important factors affecting Voluntary Social Insurance participation intention, including 5 indirect factors (Confidence in benefits, Evaluation of social feedback, Risk perception, Beliefs, Motivation) and 2 direct factors (Attitude toward, and subjective norms).
